We all continue to use mobile data or WiFi every day. Here are the things you may not know about WiFi, Speed Boost Tips.
In the current internet age, WiFi means no strangers. In addition to this, mobile data and WiFi have become a part of our real-life whether it is the virtue of work from home or online classes. Statistics show that WiFi usage has increased not only in our country but globally after the lockdown. What is the original WiFi Full Form? How does WiFi work? Here are some tips to help you speed up your WiFi at home.
We all use WiFi extensively. But its full form is Wireless Fidelity. Alohanet, an American company, first connected the Greater Hawaiian Islands in 1971 via the UHF Wireless Pocket. This is the first wireless connection in the world. But technically WiFi was born in 1991 in the Netherlands. NCR Corporation, AT&T Corporation companies have designed Wavelan for their cashier systems. Then in 1997 the first protocol 802.11 was developed. Its speed was 2 megabytes/second. It was later updated to 802.11b in 1999. Then its speed increased to 11 megabytes/second. Also in 1999, the WiFi Alliance was formed and the WiFi trademark was registered.
As far as our country is concerned, the first WiFi network was set up in Mysore in 2004. Mysore was the first city in India to set up a WiFi network. A company called WiFi Net has set up WiFi hotspots in the city of Mysore as well as in the surrounding villages.
Commercial use of the name WiFi began in August 1999. This includes a total of 8 Generations so far. Net Speed Update is also increasing with each generation update. When did any Generation updates arrive? See their net speed in the table below!
Generation Maximum Link Rate Frequency year of the coming

802.11b 1-11 Ambits / sec 1999 2.4 GHz
802.11 1-2 embits / sec 1997 2.4 GHz
Follow these tips to increase its speed when WIFI is slow.
- Disconnect devices that are already connected to WiFi when you do not need them.
- Also, see where the router is placed in the house. Keep the router away from walls and electronic objects.
- If you are using a dual-band router .. you need to change the frequency depending on the distance. Choose a frequency of 2.4 GHz if away from the router and 5 GHz if close.
- Adjust the router antennas.
- Turn off once and turn on again.
